Whitby 199 Steps

An ancient but beautiful sea port, Whitby has a deep history dating back to the founding of its famous Abbey in 657 AD which was also the inspiration for Bram Stockers Dracula.

It offers something for everyone with its many attractions connected to the towns past. Step on board the Bark Endeavour and learn all about the fascinating Captain Cook as you voyage around the harbour, or if you’re brave enough take a spooky ghost walk around the streets and alleyways in Whitby.

The Dracula Experience is not one to be missed for those wanting to learn more about how Bram Stoker brought the story to life and its connection to the town.

Of course this seaside resort is complete with amusement arcades, an impressive pier and a beautiful sandy beach below the town’s West Cliff.

The towns harbour shelters a large flotilla of fishing and private vessels where many of its seafood restaurants still get their catch.
