•The British Musical Fireworks Championship 2019 – Watch competitors compete against each other with their spectacular fireworks displays and amazing music thrown in for good measure at Victoria Park. Dates TBC for 2019
•Southport Air Show - 6th-8th of September 2019 - Watch the dazzling displays from pilots, parachutists and much more at the Southport Seafront.
•Southport Food and Drink Festival – Starting from 31st May 2019 till the 2nd June 2019, enjoy food and drink from all over the world at Victoria Park. Entry is FREE.
Places to visit
•Dunes Splash World – From flumes to a bubble spa, this indoor water park has everything you need for a fun filled day of play for the whole family. Splash World Gold Pass (Stay All Day) available from £13.90 for children.
•New Pleasureland Southport – With a vast array of different rides and amusements such as Go Karts, The Sega Themed Arcade, A Ghost Mansion and even a caricature artist, there is something here for the all the family to enjoy! Open every weekend from 24th March 2019, tickets available from £25.00pp.
•Southport Pier – The oldest and second longest iron pier in the country, it’s also home to beautiful views and amusements for everyone to savour. Take a ride to the end of the pier on the Pier Tram and enjoy a nice relaxing drink with an incredible view or head to Silcocks Funland for the splendid amusements.
•Atkinson Art Gallery and Library – Venture back to Ancient Egypt at the Museum, take in beautiful works of art in one of the many exhibitions showcased such as Frank Hampson – The Man Who Drew Dan Dare (Open until March 16th 2019) and The Art of Noise (Open Until March 16th 2019) or explore a variety of books in the Library.
•King’s Gardens – A magnificent 17 acre garden beautifully restored. Located in Southport Town Centre and featuring Victorian shelters, a Venetian bridge these spectacular gardens are a huge attraction all year round.
•Formby Beach – Home to high natural dunes, a beautiful beach and exquisite wildlife such as the Natterjack Toad, this is a perfect place for families to spend a lovely day out at the beach.
