Booking Conditions

Our Trading Charter: Terms & Conditions of Booking for your peace of mind.


1. Definitions

In these Conditions of Booking, “we”, “us” and “our” are references to UK Breakaways Limited t/a and “you” and “your” are references to the person booking the Holiday with us. “The Holiday” means the holiday which you have reserved and which we will provide to you under the Contract.


2. The Contract

These Conditions of Booking and the Confirmation of Booking will be part of the Contract. Under the Contract we agree, subject to these Conditions of Booking and the Confirmation of Booking, to provide the break to you and anyone on whose behalf you book the break.


3. Booking Confirmation

Your contract comes into effect as soon as you have confirmed your booking. Once the contract exists, your rights to cancel are set out in clause 9. Your web booking is not complete until we send you an e-mail notifying you of written confirmation.  You will usually receive this within 24 hours however please allow up to 3 days before contacting us

4. Holiday Payment

A deposit of £35 per person is payable at the time of booking for all breaks costing more than £150 per person. For all breaks less than £150 per person full balance is due at the time of booking. Holidays of 6 nights or more and breaks with included tickets / admission may occasionally require a higher deposit payment. The deposit (including any insurance premiums) belongs to us as soon as the contract comes into existence. You must pay the full price to us at least 6 weeks before departure. If you do not make this payment on time, we reserve the right to cancel the break and keep the deposit. There will be no charge made when using a credit or debit card although we do reserve the right to pass any supplementary charges to our customers by way of a nominal charge. Your holiday price includes the provision of our holiday confirmations in a digital format. Paper copies posted out to customers will incur a small charge and will normally only be issued on request.


5. Hotel Amenities and Facilities

Amenities as described will usually be available, but please note that some amenities (lifts, swimming pool etc) require service and repair and may not always be available. Entertainment is frequently subject to demand based on sufficient guests staying at the hotel. Some hotels may charge for extra supplies of tea/coffee in bedrooms. Please note that some hotel leisure facilities may incur a charge. Car parking may be chargeable and is subject to availability on arrival.


6. All-Inclusive Breaks

UK Licensing Legislation stipulates that alcoholic drinks promotions may not be unlimited. Most all-inclusive breaks will include a maximum number of alcoholic drinks available to each guest per day, and may use a drinks voucher or bar-credit system to comply with licensing laws.


7. If we cancel your holiday

Cancellations of holidays booked are rare, but in the event the company will send you notice at least 7 days prior to the intended date of the start of your holiday. The company will return any monies paid by you for the holiday or offer you a suitable alternative. In the unlikely event that we have to make an alteration to your break, such as, but not limited to, a change in your booked accommodation. We will notify you as soon as possible.


8. Price Revision

We may alter the price of the break in certain circumstances but in no circumstances will we make any increase in price less than 7 days before the start of the Holiday. We may only increase the price of your Holiday to the extent that the cost is increased due to rises in the rates of value added tax or other dues, taxes or fees chargeable for.


9. If you wish to cancel your holiday

You may cancel the break in accordance with clause 7 if we make a significant change to your Holiday. In all other circumstances if you cancel your break then we will make the following cancellation charges: More than 42 days - deposit only, 22 to 30 days 30% of total holiday price, 15 to 21 days 50% of total holiday price, 8 to 14 days 75% of total holiday price, 7 days or less 100% of total holiday price. Please note that the minimum cancellation charge is the amount of the deposit plus any insurance. THEATRE / CONCERT / EVENT TICKETS Any theatre, concert or event ticket purchased as part of a package is not refundable and is not subject to the above cancellation policy.


10. Transferring your break

If for circumstances beyond your control (for example if you are unfit to travel due to illness or you are called for jury service) you are unable to go on the break you may transfer your break to another person provided you notify us as soon as possible and at least 7 days before departure. We shall be entitled to charge a £10 administrative charge and to charge you for any other additional costs incurred by us as a result of the transfer of the break. Both you and the person to whom you transfer the Holiday will be liable to us for proper performance of this Contract. If you wish to change any other details of your break we will endeavour to meet your requirements so far as possible. However, we reserve the right to charge a £10 administration charge and to charge you for any other costs which we may incur as a result of your change. (eg admission tickets are non-refundable).

11. Law and Juristiction

English law applies to this Contract and the English courts shall hear any claims brought under it.


12. Circumstances beyond our control

We shall not be liable for any delay in performing any of our obligations under this Contract where the delay is due to circumstances beyond our control. In the unlikely event that a theatre/concert/special event is cancelled by the promoter/organiser we are only liable for the refund of the cost of the admission ticket.


13. Our Liability and responsibility to you

We take every care to ensure that your break will be as enjoyable and as safe as possible. If anything goes wrong with your break that is directly our fault then we accept responsibility to compensate you. We also accept responsibility to compensate you if it is the fault of our staff or anyone else providing the break to you and this may include the accommodation provider. However, the maximum amount of compensation that we will pay you is: (a) Unlimited in case of death or personal injury. (b) Limited to the amount of the insurance excess on the holiday insurance package which we have offered to you if your property or belongings are damaged. (c) Limited to the price of the individual Holiday if you suffer any other loss or damage. This is in addition to anything we may pay you under clauses (a) and (b). The above represents our only liability to you and you are advised that we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage in respect of cash / currency / credit cards / passports / jewellery / mobile phones / cameras / other electronic equipment or personal items.


14. Rules and regulations

You agree to abide by our rules and regulations in force from time to time. Any serious breach of our rules and regulations or unreasonable conduct by you will entitle us to refuse a booking or exclude you from the remainder of the break and you will be responsible for your own costs and ours.


15. Special requests

If you have any special requests for services not included in the break price - for instance low floor bedrooms or special diets - you must notify these to us at the time of booking. Please check these are detailed on your holiday tickets. We will do our best to provide for your requirement, however, special requests cannot be guaranteed.

Important Notes

Protecting your money

The terms and conditions detailed apply to any inclusive break (where we provide transport and/or admission to attractions/concerts) which falls under the terms of the 1992 Package Travel regulations which are protected by our financial bond, administered by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT).

If you have a complaint

If you have any complaints during the break it is essential that you notify the supplier of the service If the service provider has not been able to resolve your complaint you should contact us by email at explaining what your complaint is about within 21 days after the break. Except in respect of death or injury caused by negligence, we regret that we cannot accept liability for any claims which you do not notify to us within 21 days.

Single Bedroom Supplements

All prices are per person (unless otherwise stated) and are based on two people sharing a twin/ double room. Whilst many of our featured hotels levy varying charges for single bedroom occupancy, has adopted a policy of spreading these charges across most of the hotels included in this website, subject to availability.


Single bedroom supplements for most hotels are as follows:


1 night £14; 2 nights £18; 3 nights £22; 4 nights £24; 5/6 nights £34


Additional nights £6 per night. Rates may alter at Christmas/New Year and for City Hop breaks.

Child Reductions

Unless otherwise stated child prices are as follows: Aged under 2 - £10 charge, Aged 2- 12 yrs incl - £10 discount, Aged 13 or over - Adults price applies No further discounts / vouchers apply. 

Half Price/Free Child Places
Some holidays feature half price or free child places; these only apply when sharing with 2 full paying adults.

Dining Arrangements

Meals may be subject to set times and some hotel restaurants are unable to offer all guests individual dining tables – you may, on occasions, be required to share larger dining tables with other guests.

Hotel Room Access

This may not be available until 4pm on the day of arrival, and usually you will have to vacate your room by 11am on the day of departure. If in doubt, discuss with the hotel. Remember to hand in door keys and settle any additional items (i.e. bar bill, telephone, etc) before departing.
