One of the most influential artists of all time, Jeff Lynne has produced some of the most instantly recognisable music.
His trademark symphonic rock is characterised by a unique spaceship and semi-orchestral sound which feels like it’s literally landed from another planet.
The Electric Light Orchestra were one of the biggest bands of the 70s and 80s, during which they enjoyed 27 UK top 40 singles and sold over 50 million records worldwide.
Their 1977 album “Out Of The Blue” which featured some of the bands greatest hits “Sweet Talkin’ Woman”, “Turn To Stone”, “It’s Over” and “Mr Blue Sky” is one of the most iconic in music history, selling over 10million copies alone.
After folding the band, Lynne went on to co-found supergroup Traveling Wilburys along with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, George Harrison and Tom Petty.
He has also worked with some of the biggest names in music history, co-producing and writing for the likes of Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Eric Clapton.
Public appetite for ELO has remained strong and his comeback at Radio 2’s Festival In A Day, which saw Lynne perform with an orchestra of 60 musicians, showed what the world’s been missing.
His first full comeback tour for many years, this is one of most hotly anticipated Showtime packages we’ve ever put together. See this music legend while you can with National Holidays – simply use our holiday Search above.
