Llanberis is a holiday destination that is surrounded with beauty and fun filled activities for all the family. Whether you want to have a fun action packed holiday or a lazy day eating a delicious picnic there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Snowdon Honey Farm and Winery is a shop with a difference, situated in the centre of Llanberis village and nestled at the foot of Mount Snowdon. This lovely family run business started as a hobby but has grown and grown into the warm feeling shop it is today. Of course all the produce is locally sourced and there is a tea room and ice-cream parlour, a shop and a free tasting bar! So after a hard day walking, climbing or relaxing why not treat yourself at Snowdon Honey Farm and Winery?
Llanberis Lake Railway has a timeless appeal of their narrow-gauge steam trains and they believe is the perfect way to savour the grandeur of Snowdonia. The journey starts by taking you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, crossing possibly Britain’s shortest river and passing Llanberis’ twin lakes and back to Llanberis village. From here the train carries on nonstop through Padarn Country Park then along the shore of Lake Padarn to Penllyn giving absolutely gorgeous views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales. This five mile return trip only takes round 60 minutes to complete and with all the stunning views, there is no better way to spend an hour.
Padarn Country Park is 800 acres of beautiful woodland and is home to some of North Wales’ most amazing attractions including the giant waterwheel, the old quarry hospital, steam trains, lake cruises, a national museum, nature trails, climbing, and scuba diving, along with picnic sites, craft workshops and places to get light refreshments!
Fancy a high level activity course that will get your heart racing? Then you must visit Ropes and Ladders! They have something suitable for everyone, there is an area dedicated for 4 to 8 year olds and for aged 8 and upwards there is so much to do including aerial challenges, leaps, giant swing and zip line which has spectacular views over a stunning lake and the mountains of Snowdonia. Ropes and Ladders are situated in the beautiful setting of woodland in Padarn Country Park. This brilliant high level activity course isn’t just about swinging around on ropes as they also offer guided mountain walking, rock climbing, canoeing and raft building and multi activity days.
