Coach holidays to Sandringham House

Sandringham House by Coach

Nestled amongst 60 acres of beautiful Norfolk countryside, Sandringham House is a majestic neo-Jacobean property, which provides a unique opportunity for coach visitors to view an official residence of the Royal Family.

Sandringham is an interesting place for all ages. Who doesn’t want to see where the Queen eats her dinner or roam her front room and garden?

Explore the surprisingly intimate ground floor rooms and take time to learn about the mix of treasured ceramic ornaments, portraits and furniture on display which have been personally collected over the years.

The Ballroom is always a fascinating room, it houses a different exhibition each year showing new collections from the private rooms of the house which have never been on display before.

More royal possessions and memorabilia can be enjoyed in the Museum housed in the former stables and coach houses, including chess set presented by Nelson Mandela and a few unusual objects such as a 1939 Merryweather fire engine which served the estate, the Queen Mother’s ‘racing buggy’ and a clock used in the Royal Pigeon Lofts to time racing pigeons!

In the grounds you will also find the parish church of St Mary Magdalene, where Princess Charlotte was christened and where the Royal Family attend mass at Christmas. It features a collection of Royal Memorials plus spectacular works of art, including carved angels which frame the silver altar.

Wherever you go knowledgeable guides are on hand to help you make the most of your coach trip and answer any questions you may have.

If time’s still on your side take a romantic stroll through the exquisite gardens and spot Queen Alexandra’s Summerhouse, meander along the stream or browse the many gift shops in the designated visitor centre.

Sandringham is also the perfect place to get in the festive spirit at its annual Christmas Fair.
